The Worshipful Master W. Bro David Ingleby and Lodge Charity Steward Howard Hodgkinson recently presented two cheques to the team leader of the Buxton Mountain Rescue organisation W. Bro Neil Carruthers also a member of Buxton Lodge and representatives of the Derbyshire Cave Rescue organisation.
The donations were made up from profits of Buxton’s May Ball which totalled £ 750.00. This, in turn was split two ways making £ 375.00 for each team. The WM and his wife Flo had selected the two charities for assistance.
The Provincial Grand Charity were also very pleased to match fund each donation making a grand total of £ 750.00 to each organisation.
W. Bro Hodgkinson was especially pleased to be involved with these donations as in 1964 he was responsible for founding the Buxton Mountain Rescue team and enjoyed the privilege of being the first team leader covering a period of ten years. He also served five years on the Buxton cave Rescue team.
