The season for making charitable donations has re-started for Glossopdale Masonic Lodge No. 625, with the presentation of two cheques to the Glossop Arts Project for a total of £1000.

The first cheque for £500 was sanctioned by members of Glossopdale Lodge and this was match-funded  by the Provincial grand Lodge of Derbyshire.

The presentation was made to Project Director Sonja Quirk and committee member Melanie Johnson by the Worshipful Master of Glossopdale Lodge, Dr Fred Webber, and by John Acton, Secretary to the Provincial Grand Charity, along with other members of the lodge.

Glossop Arts Project is an established ‘Arts for Wellbeing’ group in Glossop and offers free sessions for people with long-term health issues, physical disabilities and mental health problems.

They also run a ‘hands-on’ art group for adults with learning difficulties.

Creative sessions for all, including felt-making and ceramics, are held weekly at the Pure Vibes Youth Centre, Ebenezer Street, Glossop.

Glossopdale Masonic Lodge has been in existence since 11th January 2018 with the amalgamation of Devonshire Lodge No.625 and Mallender Lodge No.8835.

By giving it a new, more localised name, it is hoped that this will attract more interest within the area, and that its greater strength will enable it to continue to support local deserving causes.
