Derwent Lodge

No: 884

Who are we?

Nestled in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales sits the ancient town of Wirksworth, where Derwent Lodge has met for the past 160 years rooted in the heart of the community. Since 1959 we have met in the historic Moot Hall, which still hosts the annual Great Barmote Court, the Lead mining Court for Derbyshire.

What we do

Derwent Lodge has been helping make good men better through the excellent values of Freemasonry, which promotes a code for living a better life. We achieve this through the enactment of progressive ceremonies. We raise money for charity and good causes both locally and nationally. Freemasonry is the biggest donor to charity outside the National Lottery.

Why join us?

Derwent is a friendly and welcoming community based Lodge, with a long history and a diverse membership which is constantly evolving, drawing several new members from Wirksworth, Matlock and the surrounding environs. If you are looking for a vibrant group to join, then we are for you.
