Who are we?

Rutland Lodge was formed in 1867 and in 2017 celebrated 150 years of Freemasonry. Based at Freemasons Hall, High Street in the market town of Ilkeston, it is an exceptional and impressive centre of excellence for Freemasonry. Our Members come from all walks of life, most of whom have a connection with the town and it’s surrounding area.

What we do

We are a group of like minded Members known as Brethren who meet monthly during the Freemasonry season with the objective of “making good men better”, in simpler terms promoting friendship and personal development in our daily lives. The Lodge is seen by its Members as a “force for good” and therefore seeks to be actively involved in its local community and charitable interests.

Why join us?

We are a friendly and dynamic lodge with a diverse age range of Members. One of our principal aims is to assist our Members through the many mysteries and privileges which Freemasonry has to offer. Our meetings consist of Ceremonies followed by a Festive Board where like minded Members enjoy each others company in fellowship and harmony.
