Who are we?
Vulcan references the Roman ‘God of Fire & Metalworking’ linking our founders’ engineering backgrounds, well forged in the East Midlands. In Vulcan’s early years, its membership consisted of every Senior Mining Engineer in the area and its meetings averaged between 80 – 120! Over time, as the work landscape changed, so has our lodge membership profile. We now have a great mix, covering many ages from 22 to 82, with brothers who are also serving members of the RAF & British Army, The IT Industry is well represented along with NHS, Self Employed, Plumbers, Heating Engineers & Retired Professionals.
What we do
We have kept our ancient traditions, especially those when installing the Worshipful Master. We take pride in our degree ceremonies and based on the engineering principles laid down in our foundations, we want to get it right. There are plenty of practice meetings to attend and a first class mentoring scheme in operation, that fully supports you on your journey. We support many local charities and have lots of laughter along the way
