On Saturday 9th December W Bro Guy Raynor-Edwards, IPM of Tyrian Lodge 253, was pleased to present a cheque for £1,500 to Ashgate Hospice in Chesterfield. This was Guy’s chosen charity for his year as the Master of Derbyshire’s oldest lodge.  Guy  cared for his mother in the past, and he organised and presented a rip roaring Wild West evening at the Grange Banqueting Suite in June which was greatly enjoyed by many brethren and their families and guests to raise  funds for this worthy cause. Everyone  joined in with suitable dress and took part in sing-a-longs, line dancing and shoot-outs amongst other entertainments. The saloon dancing girls (from Chaines Dance school) were a great hit too!

The lodge then kindly agreed to supplement the proceeds of the night from the relief chest to make a nice round figure.

Guy along with his wife Linda and W Bro Keith Allen of Cavendish Lodge 3055 who had supported throughout were given a tour of the Hospice and  discovered more about the excellent work they do and were warmly thanked by Ashgate’s Fundraising Manager Christine Seldon.
