An almost maximum attendance of Brethren occupied the Temple at Ashfield House Masonic Hall, Burton-on-Trent to witness a presentation to Ernest Tryner marking 60 years in the Craft. Carnarvon Lodge No.1739 was opened in due form by its Worshipful Master W Bro James Christian Morrison and his officers, under the supervision of the Deputy Provincial Grand Master VW Bro Brian Evangelista.

A number of Grand Lodge Officers were also present – to name but a few, W Bro’ Tom Briggs, W Bro Martyn Bailey, W Bro Charles Cunnington, W Bro Alan Beckerton. VW Bro Evangelista was also supported by a good number of acting Provincial Officers.

The scene having being set, the ‘only labour of the evening’ was to hear of the good works performed by W Bro Ernest William Tryner PJGD. The citation of the Certificate endorsed by the RW Bro Arthur Steven Varley (PGM), was read out by the Provincial Grand Secretary, W Bro Martyn Bailey and was duly presented.

The evenings photographs (taken by WBro George Frost), display a relaxed friendly Festive Board. A Birthday Cake was presented to W Bro Ernest against the song of “For he’s a jolly good fellow and three cheers of – hip hip hooray).
